THE UNKNOWN HUNDERTWASSER

20. November 2008 – 15. March 2009, daily 10.00 - 19.00 hrs

Friedensreich Hundertwasser would have been 80 years old in 2008; we celebrate his birthday with this show.

The exhibition will show works, which are not known to a general public – in particular an outstanding selection of paintings, mostly from private collections, which have never or very seldom been exhibited. Hundertwasser architecture projects, which have been completed after his death, objects and unrealised designs of his applied art as well as multi-media documentations on unknown aspects of his work and life will round up this unique exhibition.

A catalogue, published by Prestel Verlag, Munich, will accompany the exhibition.

On occasion of the exhibition at KunstHausWien the International Symposium "Hundertwasser – His Work and Its Impact on Society" will take place at the Natural History Museum of Vienna from
11 to 13 December 2008. Lectures will be held by Hundertwasserʼs companions of the road and international scientists like Bazon Brock, Marina Fischer-Kowalski, Robert Fleck, Pierre Laconte, Bernd Lötsch, Robert Schediwy, Walter Schurian and Peter Weish.
