PERMANENT EXHIBITION:

FRIEDENSREICH HUNDERTWASSER
1 JANUARY - 31 DECEMBER, daily 10 – 19 hours

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS:

JEAN TINGUELY
3 JULY – 9 NOVEMBER 2008 , daily 10.00 – 19.00 hrs

KunstHausWien is pleased to be able to present another big exhibition of about 160 works of the Swiss artist Jean Tinguely (1925 – 1991) after 17 years. This time, the retrospective shows sculptures, models, drawings, drafts, sketches, posters and photos from the holdings of the Jean Tinguely Museum in Basle.

With "JEAN TINGUELY – Retrospective“ the KunstHausWien honours one of the most important and popular representatives of the development of modern art, which aimed at extending the traditional concept of art: replacing the classical "static" forms of painting and sculpture by experiments with moveable objects and materials hitherto alien to art.

THE UNKNOWN HUNDERTWASSER
20 NOVEMBER 2008 – 15 MARCH 2008 , daily 10.00 – 19.00 hrs

Friedensreich Hundertwasser would have been 80 years old in 2008; we celebrate his birthday with this exhibition.

The exhibition will show works, which are not known to a general public – in particular an outstanding selection of paintings, mostly from private collections, which have never or very seldom been exhibited. Hundertwasser architecture projects, which have been completed after his death, objects and unrealised designs of his applied art as well as multi-media documentations on unknown aspects of his work and life will round up this unique exhibition.
